Evolve Biodegradable – more than a brand, it’s a movement!

Turn the clock back to 2016, when Eva saw a video of a turtle with a straw stuck in its nose. The video made her rethink everything including personal habits and business practices.

Fast forward to 2020 and a biodegradable floor cleaner blossomed into a full range of eco-friendly products.

Meet Eva from Evolve Biodegradable

When Eva saw that poor turtle she started recycling at home going from one bag of trash a day to one a week.  Her flooring company Evalution Flooring imported vinyl flooring from Europe and the UK. Eva started the lengthy and fairly expensive exercise to get GreenTag Certification which is a certification system for the world’s best eco products.

“With that underway, we were contacted by GreenTag to say that they had just certified a biodegradable floor cleaning product which would go perfectly with our flooring products.  I thought this was a fantastic idea to get involved with the product.  Upon reviewing the floor cleaner, we discovered there was a whole range of biodegradable products that we could get.  I, my friends, staff and family used and tested the products for almost a year to make sure they worked well. So in 2020, a year for many that we’d rather forget, Evolve Biodegradable was born!”

Evolve is

Eva says:  “What started out as a “greener” floor cleaning solution has grown into cleaning products, washing detergents, body wash, hand wash and a wonderful non-alcohol based sanitizer that has proven to be wonderful for sensitive skins and it also came with a whole pile of other little tricks that it was useful for, like a mosquito and fly repellant. We even have our own delightful Fragrance Booster for your laundry and a ‘Before you Go Loo spray’ called Eau de Poof.”

A question that is asked – Why are plastics being used for the packaging?

Eva explains; “Great question! 🧐 While we’d love to ditch plastic altogether and go full superhero for the planet, some battles require a clever approach. Plastic containers are sturdy, reusable, and recyclable, which makes them perfect sidekicks for our eco-mission.

Here’s the fun part: we encourage you to reuse them like a pro—refill, repurpose, or pass them on to an NPO that needs them. And if you’re done with them, bring them back to us for a second life. So, while plastic gets a bad rap, in our hands, it’s on a mission to stay out of landfills and save the day.

We’re constantly brewing up fresh ideas for better packaging—think of us as eco-inventors in action! 🚀 The goal? Make our packaging reusable, even if it’s not for our products. Got a creative use? Go for it! The more you reuse, the happier the planet (and we) will be. Because, let’s face it, single-use is so last season.”

Many of the chemicals in well-known brands of cleaning products are toxic or corrosive.  Exposure can cause eye irritation and a variety of skin allergies.  Have you ever cleaned with your well-known cleaning brands, and had to wear gloves and went into a coughing fit due to all the fumes?  STOP. It is not only bad for your health but it is really bad for the environment.

Not only will you find all your cleaning products at Evolve [2], but you will find a selection of gift ideas perfect for the upcoming festive season – I particularly like the Fire Starters [3]
