We had a question about the direction of your vegetable garden beds in the garden.
Your vegetable garden should preferably be on the north side of your property to get the maximum amount of sun. When you build your veggie beds in your garden, you can make them according to the layout of your garden.
I have beds running north to south and beds that are running east to west.
* For my beds that run east to west, I will plant my higher plants in the back (south) and on the east side so that the higher plants do not cast shade on the smaller plants. Trellises I will place at the south side of the beds
* In my beds that run north to south, I will plant my higher plants on the east side. The higher plants might cast shade in the morning, but after midday, they will get the afternoon sun, which is warmer than the morning sun. My trellises I will put to the south of these beds
